Australia A Denied After Rain

Australia A has been denied a shot at victory after the final day of the four-day match against India A was washed out as a consequence of heavy rain.

Australia A had set India A a very challenging 4th Innings chase of 482 but openers Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir responded in style by taking the tourists to 117-0 at stumps. The match was largely dominated by the presence of Phil Jaques who staked an early claim for an Ashes opening berth with scores of 240 and a whirlwind 117 off 103 balls.

Australia A’s next match will be a Twenty20 fixture against Pakistan A on July 23 in Cairns. While India A’s next match will be on July 24 against New Zealand A in Cairns which promises to be an entertaining battle.
