Atapattu in surprise recall

Against all odds, former Sri Lankan captain Marvan Atapattu has made his way back into the Sri Lankan side for the tour of Australia next month.

Having not played a Test since late 2005, Atapattu was not named in the original squad but was included in the side to leave for Australia this week after a request made by the Sports Minister of Sri Lanka, Gamini Lokuge.

Sri Lanka play their first Test against Australia on November 8th at the Gabba and then moving onto Hobart for the second Test of the tour later in the month.
