Lee Breaks Down

Saturday, October 18 2003

Australia's injury epidemic has continued, with fast bowler Brett Lee the latest first-string player to break down.

Following x-rays, Lee has been ruled out for at least a month with a torn abdominal muscle.

His injury follows the breakdown of Glenn McGrath, Jason Gillespie, Stuart MacGill and Darren Lehmann in thew past 2 weeks.

The injury means Lee will miss the one-day triangular series in India.

No replacement has been named, with possible call-ups for outsiders such as Shane Harwood, Stuart Clark and Damien Wright.

Should the selector feel the need, Michael Kasprowicz is also available for selection. Queensland teammate Ashley Noffke is injured and unlikely to be considered.
