Kasprowicz called up

Sunday, October 19 2003

Queensland paceman Michael Kasprowicz was a surprise call up to the Australian squad as a replacement for the injuried Brett Lee.

Kasprowicz has played 16 One Day Internationals (ODIs) for Australia - the last being against Sri Lanka in Melbourne in February 1999.

Kasprowicz had a successful season with Glamorgan - picking up 77 wickets with a career best 9/36. He was also the winner of the 2002/03 Ian Healy Trophey as Queensland's most valuable player.

Cricket Australia also confirmed that Brett Lee will be out for about one month.
