SA Back Flip – Again

Thursday, September 25 2003

South Africa's on-again off-again tour to Pakistan is set to go ahead following talks between the PCB and UCBSA allowing for a re-structured tour.

The main change to the tour schedule is the dropping of one Test match from the original touring plans. It will now become a 2 match series.

Dangerous 'hot spots' Karachi and Peshawar have both been excluded from the itinerary, despite both holding games in the recently completed Bangladesh series.

The South African change of heart may have been prompted by threats on behalf of the PCB to sure the UCBSA for loss of funds following their original withdrawal from the tour – a day after confirmation that they would tour.

Should the tour be completed, it will be the second to be played in Pakistan since September 2001. The first was against Bangladesh last month.

The tour consists of 2 Test matches and 3 ODI's.
