Indian Probables For Aust.

Friday, November 14 2003

The BCCI announced the Indian probable list to tour Australia with 20 notable and exceptional cricket players. As well as the predictibility of this Indian lineup, there was also a surprise.

Tamil Nadu stalwart and former Indian opener, Sadagoppan Ramesh and former Indian wicketkeeper/batsman, Deep Dasgupta have been added to the list of probables to tour the land down under next month.

In what is one of cricket's toughest tours, India will be looking for Sadagoppan's previous experience on Australian pitches. Ramesh and Dasgupta's inclusion leaves no room for the once favoured Sanjay Bangar, who finds himself out of the initial squad.

Young players such as Irfan Pathan, L Balaji and Aavishkar Salvi find themselves on the trip to Australia, and the ever improving left arm spinner, Murali Kartik also finds himself close to a trip to Australia.

In other news, left arm fast bowler Ashish Nehra has been dropped for the remainder of the TVS Cup following his poor bowling performance against Australia at Bangalore. Nehra will be relegated to domestic cricket to regain his form and momentum before playing International Cricket. Nehra will be replaced by Aavishkar Salvi.
