Gloucestershire hold on

Saturday, August 23 2003

Tim Hancock, Jonty Rhodes and Alex Gidman scored half-centuries as Gloucestershire held on to draw against Glamorgan at Bristol. Having set 360 to win from 94 overs, Glamorgan wasted an opportunity to boost their promotion chase, taking only seven of the required wickets. The Gloucestershire batsmen were painstakingly gritty, resisting everything Robert Croft, who took 4-61, had in the final overs. The Welsh side remain in third place, however the competition for the last promotion place is as fierce as ever.
