Monday, November 24 2003

Former India 'A' player, Vanka Pratap has added a new dimension to the latest bribery scandal which has hit Indian Cricket.

Pratap confirms that he was approached by an unnamed selector who asked him for money in order to give him a place in the India 'A' squad.

Pratap, considered to be a honest man around cricketing circles in India was quoted in saying that, he didn't 'bother' in giving the money and aimed for a place in the India 'A' squad as a result of hard work and consistency.

Vanka raised a few eyebrows when said that places in the national team have always been up for sale. Vanka Pratap was one of Hyderabad's most important batsmen, he played over 80 first class games, and scored close to 4000 runs at an average over 36.
