New Zealand vs Worcestershire
Day 2 - 8th May 2004

Worcestershire 270 for 9 dec (Smith 92, Tuffey 4 for 57)

This was another frustrating day for the tourists, with much of it lost due to yet more rain. It started well for them, with Shane Bond quickly claiming his first wickets of the tour - Kadeer Ali and Andrew Hall. Shortly afterwards, Ben Smith fell just short of what would have been a deserved hundred and a brisk 39* from Malik was the only other contribution of any note. With the rain wiping out the final session, Worcestershire declared, and the Black Caps will be hoping for better weather tomorrow so that their batsmen can spend some much-needed time in the middle.
