Trevor Bayliss To Lead Blues

Trevor Bayliss has been appointed the new coach of New South Wales (SpeedBlitz Blues) for the next two seasons, taking over from the departing Steve Rixon who has decided to take up the coaching job with Surrey County Cricket Club in England, Bayliss will officially take over the role from Rixon on the 3rd of May 2004.

Trevor Bayliss who represented NSW on 58 occasions and led them throughout the 1990/1 season.

Trevor Bayliss wasn't a surprising decision as he has been working under Steve Rixon and has been the NSW 2nd XI coach for the last four years, guiding the team to two wins in the national competition including 2003-04.

"Trevor has demonstrated an excellent record coaching NSW under-age and 2nd XI teams. He has the strong support of the NSW players and was the outstanding candidate from those interviewed for the position by the interview panel" said Cricket NSW Chief Executive David Gilbert.

The interview panel was comprised of Cricket NSW Chairman Bob Horsell, Cricket NSW Board members Mark Taylor and Jon Jobson and Chief Executive David Gilbert.
