Scotland sign Sriram

Thursday, April 15 2004

Scotland have signed Indian batsman Sridharan Sriram as their second overseas player for the 2004 season, Pakistani all-rounder Yasir Arafat being the first.

Sriram, who also bowls left-arm spin, has played six One-Day Internationals for India.

Sriram has scored over a 1,000 runs in each of the last three Indian domestic seasons. He also scored a couple of centuries on India A's tour of England last year.

Sriram's services have been acquired after Scotland couldn't manage to bring back Rahul Dravid for a second season.

Sriram will arrive in time to play against Leicestershire on 2 May.
