Katich called up

New South Wales batsman Simon Katich has been called into the Australian squad for their next VB series encounter with India in Sydney on Thursday.
Katich will replace Matthew Hayden , who is being given the match off to recover from several niggling injuries.
At this stage it is only a one match call up , as Hayden , who made a century in Australia’s narrow loss to India at the Gabba on Sunday , will be recalled for the match against Zimbabwe at Adelaide.
This comes as a deserved reward for Katich , who made his maiden test century in the final test against India earlier this month & has been the outstanding batsman on the domestic scene this summer , with 2 ING cup centuries to his name.
