Central Districts v South Africans at Napier

Mathew Sinclair was the star on day 2 of the tour match between Central and the touring South Africans. Central were struggling at 56-4, before Sinclair and Jarrod Englefield (77) put on 151 for the fifth wicket before Nicky Boje dismissed Sinclair for 99 caught and bowled.

Bevan Griggs came to the wicket and put together 32 before David Terbrugge dismissed Engelfield for 77. Glen Sulzburger declared straight away with Central's score on 239-6.

South Africa came out to bat for 25 overs before stumps. Jacques Rudolph and Herschelle Gibbs put on 45 before Michael Mason bowled Gibbs for 26. Rudolph made his way to 31 before Lance Hamilton before Hamilton dismissed Rudolph caught by Sinclair with the score on 77. Nine runs later Hamilton trapped Martin van Jaarsveld in front for 19. South Africa finished at 95-3 with a lead of 142 and a day remaining. One feels the South Africans will use the day as batting practice and will in a draw.
