Northern v Canterbury at Gisborne

Northern Districts are on top at stumps on day 2. Canterbury dismissed Northern for 434 with Nick Horsley top scoring for 101. Jayden Hatwell (68) Joseph Yovich (65) and Matt Hart (64) were all main contributors for Northern. Chris Martin took 3-67 for Canterbury.

At stumps Canterbury are 145-5. However in form number 3 batsman Peter Fulton is not out on 74. Paul Wiseman is not out on 23. Mark Orchard (2-10) and Joseph Yovich (2-30) have been the main wicket takers for Northern.

Wellington v Otago at Wellington


Wellington were dismissed for 482 with Matt Walker making 126. Nathan Parlane was the next highest scorer with 62. Jeff Wilson returned with the best bowling figures with 3-76 off 23 overs. Warren McSkimming took 3-94.

Otago made a good start, by finishing at 154-2 at stumps. Mohammad Wasim and Craig Cumming put on 22 for the first wicket before James Franklin trapped Wasim in front for 17. Mark Gillespie broke through on 134 again, this time with Craig Gaffney for 69. Cumming (45*) and Rob Lawson (18*) are the two not out batsmen.

Central v Auckland at New Plymouth


Auckland on top at stumps on day 2. Dismissed for 316 with Aaron Barnes making his second consecutive second with 108. Rob Nicol made 88. Lance Thompson took 3-35 for Central.

Glen Sulzberger top scored with 56, but the real star of the show was Ross Taylor making 52 off 31 balls. Andre Adams took 4-110 for Auckland.
