Croft quits international cricket

Sunday, January 4 2004

England offie, and Glamorgan skipper, Robert Croft has decided to call an end to his international cricket career.

Croft was selected for the recent English tour of Sri Lanka, but couldn't make in to the playing XI in any of the three Test Matches.

Croft's major success came in England's previous tour to Sri Lanka in 2001, during which he took 9 wickets, and thus was a key member in the 2-1 series victory.

Croft's record of 35 out of a total of 49 wickets outside of England proves that he enjoyed a much greater success overseas. Croft played 21 Test matches during his 7 year career.

Croft also took 45 wickets in 50 ODIs.

Now, the 33-year old Croft intends to spend more time with his county side Glamorgan, which he also captains.
