Pakistan v Auckland : Day 3

Danish Kaneria finished with 5/70 in the Auckland first innings as he helped limit the hosts to 222 all out from an overnight score of 164/5. Shabbir Ahmed (2/44) was the only other Pakistani with more than one wicket.

Pakistan then decided to bat out the rest of the day, closing on 201/5 from 43 overs. Taufeeq Umar (0) and Imran Farhat (17) were both out early to Hitchcock to leave the tourists at 24/2, but Yousuf Youhana (67) and Inzamam Ul-Haq (62) helped keep the innings together.

Yasir Hameed (23 not out) and Mohammed Sami (10 not out) were the unbeaten batsmen at the close.
