Murali Kartik called up

Viewed as unlucky not to have been taken to Australia after his fine bowling form in the TVS Cup, Murali Kartik got his 27th birthday present from the Indian selectors by being called up to the squad in Adelaide and according to Sourav Ganguly he is contention for a spot as are Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble.

Kartik is expected to arrive in Adelaide 5.30pm local time.

By calling Kartik up sends out the signal India consider spin their strongest attacking weapon.
