Pedro Collins recalled

Wednesday, March 17 2004

Pedro Collins has been recalled to the West Indies Test squad as a replacement for the injured Fidel Edwards. Edwards' half-brother has not played a Test for the West Indies since the second Test against Australia last year, ironically played in Trinidad, where the next Test will be played.

Currently Collins has played 19 Test matches and taken 55 wickets at 40.32 apiece. His finest moment to date has to be his impressive 6 for 76 against New Zealand in the West Indies in 2002.

Collins is the only change to the first Test squad, although Dwayne Smith is expected to be fully fit for selection as well.

The full squad:

Brian Lara (C), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vc), Ridley Jacobs (wk), Chris Gayle, Devon Smith, Dwayne Smith, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Ricardo Powell, Ryan Hinds, Corey Collymore, Adam Sanford, Tino Best, Pedro Collins.
