Edwards ruled out of 2nd Test

Tuesday, March 16 2004

West Indian troubles compounded as they were informed that key fast bowler Fidel Edwards will miss at least the second Test match against England, but likely longer. He sustained a back injury in the recently completed defeat for the home side, after bowling impressively for 3/72.

Edwards will expectedly be replaced by one of Mervyn Dillon, Dwight Washington or Pedro Collins, but no one has been officially named as yet.

Brian Lara and Corey Collymore are also reported to be nursing minor injuries, Lara's stemming from a dislocated finger he suffered after dropping a catch off Edwards.
