South African, Gregory King was appointed the new physical and fitness trainer of the Indian Cricket team as announced by Jagmohan Dalmiya.

King was interviewed by Sourav Ganguly, John Wright and Jagmohan Dalmiya and was deemed the best candidate for the job.

King replaces the extremely successful trainer, Adrian Le Roux who with his innovative techniques turned India from 'lacklustre fielders' to 'fitness dynamos'.

Indian Physiotherapist Andrew Leipus made the recommendation to have King on board, after the former fitness trainer, Adrian Le Roux resigned. Adrian Le Roux is now currently with the South African team in England.

King had previously been a fielding coach with South African provincial side Border and is specially skilled with handling the fitness requirements of fast bowlers.
