Bracewell Named as NZ Coach

Friday, July 4 2003

John Bracewell was this morning named as New Zealand's new coach. He will begin the role on November 1 in a two-year deal. Auckland Cricket chief executive Lindsday Crocker was named as the new manager replacing Jeff Crowe.

Bracewell won't be taking New Zealand to India in October/November as he'll be completing his six-year contract with England County side Gloucestershire. The Technical adviser Ashely Ross who has been assistant coach in the past will coach New Zealand for the tour.

Bracewell is to meet current New Zealand captain Stephen Fleming who is playing for Yorkshire in the next few days.
