Younis Khan(70*), Shoaib Malik(34) and Rashid Latif(20) saw Pakistan to a defendable 198 however it should have been more with the last over starting at 198/8 and Tuffey bowled a double wicket maiden to see them all out in the last ball of the innings.

Vettori again bowled economically to take 1-32 off his 10 overs and Tuffey and Oram grabbed 3 wickets each.

New Zealand got off to a great start with a 50 run partnership between openers Fleming and Nevin before Nevin fell for 17. Fleming(65) then added another 50 with Vincent(13). Styris and Fleming put the foot down and added quick runs before both fell in the space of 2 balls to Mohammad Sami in his first over of his second spell.

Fleming innings included 3 massive sixes and 5 fours. Chris Cairns and Jacob Oram both got into double figures but it was left to Chris Harris and Brendon McCullum to see the Kiwis home with 4.4 overs to spare.
