India A Squad To England

The India A team to tour England was announced today by the BCCI, with very few surprises. Young opening batsman, Shiv Sunder Das was named captain of the strong and talented India A squad. A plethora of other consistent performers in domestic cricket such as Wasim Jaffer, Gautam Gambhir and Sridharan Sriram were also included.

The team is well packed with openers, with all the above and Baroda’s Satyajit Parab also included in the lineup. The bowling is well equipped with young spearhead Aavishkar Salvi and left arm fast bowler Irfan Pathan who are renowned for their accuracy and ability to exploit bounce and movement off dusty Indian wickets.

The team will be trained by John Wright at the NCA in Bangalore before they leave for England. The tour will start on June 25 where India A will face British Universities
