Saturday, July 26 2003

Former Indian Test batsman Vinod Kambli has signalled his intentions of a possible comeback to Test cricket for India.

The attacking left-hander once scored double-centuries in back-to-back Tests against England and Zimbabwe back in 1993.

Kambli last played in a Test for India back in November 1995, during the third Test against the touring New Zealanders in Cuttack.

In his total of 17 Tests for India so far, Kambli managed 1084 runs, including four hundreds and three fifties, to give himself a healthy average of 54.20.

Vinod Kambli said "I want to play again for Mumbai and India, you will see a different me as I am training hard and have shed a lot of weight. I am really keen to do well, my job is to play and perform. The rest is up to the selectors."
