Ind-Aus series to be aired on Sony

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has signed a short term television deal with Sony Entertainment Television and Taj Television Network, to ensure that the home Test series against Australia, starting October 6, goes ahead.

This move, though hasty, was the only option left for the board to prevent the series from being put into serious doubt, as the ongoing court case over the board's decision to not hand Zee Television Network the telecast rights for the next four years despite the latter's higher bid, looks still far from being resolved.

As per this new interim deal, Ten Sports - the sports channel owned and run by Taj Television Network, will produce the coverage of the India-Australia series for the board, which in turn will be aired by the Sony Entertainment Television on either of their two channels - Sony TV or SET Max.
