Thursday, September 30 2004

Indian master batsman, Sachin Tendulkar may surprise the cricketing world next week by being included in India's lineup to face the World Champion's Australia for the first test to be held in Bangalore.

Sachin Tendulkar, who for the past few months has been suffering from a dreaded tennis elbow condition is making steady progress and for the first time in weeks picked up a light bat and bunted a few deliveries from Mumbai teammates.

Tendulkar's absence has been dismal for India as they were unsuccessful in there endevours in the NatWest Challenge agaisnt England and were eliminated in the first round of the ICC Champions Trophy by arch rivals Pakistan.

Tendulkar stated that doctors had not yet ruled him out of playing the first test, but muscles in his region had been weakened and it would take considerable time to gain the strength required to bat against the Australian's.

The whole of India waits with baited breath on the outcome of Sachin Tendulkar's condition, and one has the feeling the whole of Australia is watching with great interest as well.
