Gibbs to miss 1st Test in Sri Lanka

Prolific opener Herschelle Gibbs will miss the first Test for South Africa against Sri Lanka. Reports are that Gibbs twisted his right ankle five days ago at South Africa's training camp in Pretoria. Left-handed batsman, Andrew Puttick has joined the squad as injury cover for Gibbs.

South Africa will feature in its first practice match on tour starting on Friday, against the Sri Lanka President's XI. They last toured Sri Lanka in 1999, when Pollock's men drew 1-1.
