Jamaica v Barbados
Barbados
Day 1

A solid half-century was necessary from the 23-year-old Jamaican captain, Tamar Lambert, to take his team's innings to 193 all out. At one point the score was 70/5.

Lambert's 79, batting at 5, was crucial in the recovery, as only Carlton Baugh jr. (34) and Lorezo Ingram (34) crossed 20 otherwise. Jason Bennett (4/36) and Dwayne Smith (4/45) were the main instigators for Barbados. Smith's are his best First Class bowling figures to date.

Barbados' reply was 23/1 at stumps. Dale Richards (7) was the batsman out, as he was caught behind off Daren Powell and Martin Nurse (an attacking 16 not out) and nightwatchman Ryan Austin (0 not out) will resume on the second day.

Score Summary:
Jamaica 1st innings 193 ao (78.2 overs)
Tamar Lambert 79, Carlton Baugh jr./Lorenzo Ingram 34
Jason Bennett 4/36, Dwayne Smith 4/45

Barbados 1st innings 23/1 (5.2 overs)
