Zimbabwe Back To Face The Test

Monday, December 6 2004

Zimbabwe are all set to return from their Test exodus after just six months without a formal review of the country as announced by the International Cricket President Ehsan Mani.

Back in July 2004 Zimbabwe were given a six month ban after the vast majority of the Test eleven walked out on it's country during a bitter row with the Zimbabwe Cricket Union over it's selection policies, resulting in several trouncing loses especially at the hands of Sri Lanaka.

ICC President Ehsan Mani said that the six months was not set in stone and there was never a set deadline for a judgement of the matter to be made and that six months was just a random time that the ICC at the time felt would be a sensible length.

The lifting of the ban means that Zimbabwe are now set to for fill their obligations and will tour both Bangladesh and South Africa in the new year.
