Lewis out, Broad in
04 Apr 2007
By: Alex Crampton

England seamer Jon Lewis has flown home from the World Cup because his wife is experiencing complications with her pregnancy. He will be replaced by Leicestershire's Stuart Broad.

Lewis has not played thus far in the World Cup, but did feature in the warm-up matches. He has been out of England's ODI side since he was forced home with injury during the Commonwealth Bank Series. He was also one of the six players disciplined for staying out drinking following England's defeat against New Zealand.

His replacement, the 20 year-old Broad has played five ODIs against Pakistan, and has been involved with England's academy during the winter.
