Flintoff doubtful for Headingley
01 Sep 2007
By: Liam Camps

England allrounder Andrew Flintoff is a doubt for the fifth one-day international against India. England will be looking to seal a series win, leading the 7-match set 3-1.

Flintoff is reportedly suffering from "soreness" in his left ankle, which was recently operated on and as been the source of much injury grief over recent months. While he has not been ruled out as yet, he is unlikely to participate in the crucial fixture.

Captain Paul Collingwood revealed that fast bowler Chris Tremlett would be the replacement, should Flintoff be deemed unfit. While he has struggled with the bat, Flintoff's bowling has been outstanding in the series, including career-best figures of 5 for 56 in the second ODI at Bristol.

For India, Zaheer Khan is a concern, and may miss out on the game due to a twisted left ankle. The fifth ODI will be played on Sunday at Headingley.
