Black Caps captain Daniel Vettori has hinted that Jeetan Patel may be recalled for the Twenty20 Super Eight clash against India.

Vettori said in the post match presentation after the loss to Sri Lanka that "The way the nature of the pitch is going, I think there will be more of a role for myself, Scott Styris, Jeetan Patel and Craig McMillan. We will need to lift our game and step up in every department."

Vettori went onto comment on their clash against India saying "We've seen all the Indian players before so we have a fair idea what they're about. They still have good players and their opening bowlers are good operators."

"India looked at home with the format against Pakistan on Friday night, but we are renowned for backing up a bad showing with a good one," Vettori added.
