Boucher given heavy fine
25 Aug 2007
By: Zac Gelman

South African wicket-keeper Mark Boucher, has been fined 60% of his entire Twenty20 World Cup fee after being found guilty of breaching South Africa's players code of conduct.

Boucher was brought in front of the disciplinary panel after comments he made in the media regarding the non-selection Jacques Kallis, saying his omission was as a result of "either those who have an issue with him, and have a chip on their shoulders, or those who have ulterior motives."

Whilst Cricket South Africa had asked for Boucher to be banned from the tournament, the disciplinary panel elected to fine Boucher 60% of every match he plays in the inaugural competition.
