Duo test negative ahead of WC

Previously banned and acquitted Pakistan bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif have tested negative to any doping in their systems ahead of the Twenty20 World Cup.

Most of the potential World Cup squad were tested ahead of the naming of the side that will make the trip for the inaugural event in South Africa.

The duo, who made headlines last year when being suspended for doping charges that were later overturned, were found to have no traces of any illegal substances in their systems and are expected to be selected in the squad named later in the week.
