Shoaib & Asif drug tested by PCB
01 Aug 2007
By: James Nixon

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have completed drug tests on Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif and the rest of the Pakistan team ahead of naming their Twenty20 World Cup squad.

The Pakistan team manager Talat Ali told reporters that "All the players who are in the training camp for the event have been tested with the exception of Younis Khan, Yasir Arafat and Danish Kaneria, who are playing in England."

Urine samples have been sent to a WADA laboratory in Malaysia where they will be tested with the PCB to receive the results in about a week.

Pakistan's final 15-man squad for the Twenty20 World Cup squad is expected to be named after the results of the tests are received.
