Indian 20/20 probables announced
07 Jul 2007
By: Zac Gelman

The BCCI have announced a 30 man squad of probables that may be selected for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in South Africa.

Most notable of the names absent are the three stalwarts of the side, veterans Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly, who have asked not to be selected in a demanding year of international cricket for India.

The 30 man list, which will be cut down to 15 later next month, includes Irfan Pathan's older brother Yusuf, as well as youngsters such as Karan Goel, Manoj Tiwary and fast bowler Ishant Sharma, in what is a glimpse of India's future without its star batsmen of the past decade and more.

The Twenty20 World Cup starts in September in South Africa. India's opening match will take place in Durban against Scotland on September 13th.
