Price due to return for Zimbabwe
11 Nov 2007
By: Liam Camps

Zimbabwe will receive huge boost for their one-day international series against West Indies later this month, as left-arm spinner Ray Price has agreed to return to international service after being called up to the squad.

Price, 31, was one of several players to turn their backs on Zimbabwe in Heath Streak's rebel strike of 2004. He has since played county cricket for Worcestershire, but has rejected a contract renewal at the club. Price seemed intent on qualifying to play for England, and is three years into a four-year process.

It is reported that he consulted carefully with Heath Streak and Trevor Gripper before making the decision to return to his country of birth. Price has taken 69 Test wickets at 35.86, and while he only has 15 wickets in 26 ODI matches, his economy rate is a handy 4.14.
