World XI v Asian XI - 2nd ODI
28 Feb 2005
By: James Nixon

The second Tsunami ODI between a World XI and an Asian XI has been cancelled due to weather conditions in the venue Calcutta.

The Asian Cricket Council president Jagmohan Dalmiya has said the weather would be too hot for the match to be played in late April and along with the crowded international playing schedule it would put too much pressure on the players invovled.

The second ODI was to follow on from the success of the first match at Melbourne which managed to raise eleven million US dollars for the victims of the tsunami that hit the Asian region.
