Rain ruins 4th ODI
04 Nov 2005
By: Andrew Marmont

Heavy rain has caused the fourth one-day international at Durban to be abandoned with South Africa 79 for 2.

Only 20 overs were possible before the downpour arrived, with Jacques Kallis on 24 and Ashwell Prince unbeaten on 17 after South Africa elected to bat. The match was called off just after 8pm local time.

Shane Bond picked up AB de Villiers caught behind for 6 and Smith was adjudged leg-before for 22 to James Franklin.

It brings South Africa's winning streak of 12 to a halt.

The last match is in Centurion on Sunday night (New Zealand time).

South Africa 79 for 2
Jacques Kallis 24no, Aswell Prince 17no
Shane Bond 1-18, James Franklin 1-19

No result, match abandoned.

South Africa leads the five match series 3-0.
