Philander replaces Morkel 04 Oct 2007 By: James Nixon

Vernon Philander has been named to replace the injured Morne Morkel after he was forced to return home after fracturing his left foot.

Morkel suffered the injury while bowling during South Africa's tour match against the Patron's XI and is expected to be out for between six and eight weeks.

Philander who is yet to make his Test debut has played five one-day internationals and five Twenty20 internationals and made his debut earlier this year against Ireland.
