Ntini rested for opener

South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini will most likely miss his side's opening match against Holland on Friday, with South African management opting to rest the seamer.

Ntini arrived in the Caribbean on Wednesday after deciding to stay at home with his wife for the birth of their second child.

"With Makhaya arriving late we'll give him some time to find his feet," captain Graeme Smith told the media.

"We wanted him to sort out his family business first, we don't want him worrying about his wife and daughter.

"We wanted his mind fully focused and we feel he will have enough time to prepare before the game against Scotland."

South Africa take on the Netherlands on Friday and Scotland on Tuesday before their blockbuster clash against Australia on March 24th.
