Warmup ends in tame draw

Shahid Nazir's 5-61 was the highlight of a dull day's play at Kimberley between Rest of South Africa and Pakistan, as two Proteas scored hundreds and the game petered out dramatically.

Morne Van Wyk's 102 played second fiddle to a fine 143 from Arno Jacobs, the two combining for a partnership of 188, before Jacobs also combined with Johan Botha for 52.

Mohammad Sami, given some match practice as part of a move that resulted in the match being stripped of its first-class status, removed Van Wyk before Nazir finally claimed Jacobs.

The home side were dismissed for 383, with Nazir's figures by far the best. Pakistan reached 96-2 in reply, with Mohammad Hafeez on 48 not out to go with his first innings hundred.

Pakistan 485-9
Mohammad Hafeez 108, Imran Farhat 106, Yasir Hameed 79
Albie Morkel 5-113

Rest of South Africa 383
Morne van Wyk 143, Arno Jacobs 102
Shahid Nazir 5-61, Mohammad Hafeez 2-61

Pakistan 96-2
Mohammad Hafeez 48*, Imran Farhat 34
Yusuf Abdullah 2-21
