Lara & Tendulkar Named Captains
26 Apr 2005
By: Richard Twyman

Brian Lara (West Indies) and Sachin Tendulkar (India) have been named as the two captains for the tsunami appeal match being held at Lord's on 14 June.

Tendulkar will lead a MCC side while Lara has been named as the captain of the International XI.

Tendulkar and Lara will have a host of talent to pick from on June 14th with Shane Warne, Muttiah Muralitharan, Stephen Fleming, Graeme Smith and Andy Flower all agreeing to play so far and with the organizers eager for more to follow.

The match is in aid of the tsunami disaster that occurred on Boxing Day last year where a host of countries in both Asia and Africa were affected with at least 173,000 people were killed and another 50,000 are missing.
