England to play Scots in ODI
14 Jul 2007
By: Zac Gelman

England and Scotland will face each other later next year in an ODI for the first time, after an agreement was reached between the two boards.

The match will be set for August 18th 2008 with a follow up suggested for 2012, should Scotland maintain their ODI status.

"We have a strong relationship with Cricket Scotland and we are delighted to have been able to reach this agreement. The ODI against Scotland will create a great deal of interest both north and south of the border and will be the latest chapter in the friendly sporting rivalry between the two countries," said chief executive of the ECB, David Collier.

The deal is part of a larger agreement including Scotland's ongoing participation in county cricket as well as the compatibility of TV rights.
