Khaled Mahmud Changes Decision
02 Nov 2005
By: Harry Warwick

Khaled Mahmud retired from International cricket on the 8th of October 2005 after he felt that there was no permanent space for him in the Bangladeshi team, but reversed his decision just a day later.

This followed an article written in a paper in which Mahmud was reported to have said "I wish to state that I never officially wrote to the Bangladesh Cricket Board of my intention to quit the international game". Yet Mahmud then added "However, I admit I told the BBC that I had made my mind up to quit the game but not right at the moment. I will likely announce my retirement in the next home game".

This will not be the first time he has changed his decision however, he did the same thing after being dropped from Bangladesh's tour to Namibia and Zimbabwe in January 2004.
