Rasel forced to return home
17 Dec 2007
By: James Nixon

Bangladesh fast bowler Syed Rasel has returned home from Bangladesh's tour of New Zealand after injuring his collar bone while fielding in the warm-up match against Northern Districts in Hamilton yesterday.

Left-arm fast bowler Sajidul Islam who has yet to make his international debut is being flown over as his replacement. Chief selector Rafiqul Alam told Reuters that "Sajidul is an identical bowler to Rasel and also has been in very good form. So we have unanimously decided to send him to New Zealand as a replacement."

Bangladesh play three one-day internationals and two Tests against New Zealand with the first one-dayer starting on December 26th.
