Akhtar pushes toward comeback

Pakistani pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has helped the possibility of an international comeback for the tour of West Indies with sparkling form in a Twenty20 game, playing for the Rawalpindi Rams. Akhtar claimed five of the top six batsmen and finished with figures of 5/23.

The performance inpsired victory by 96 runs, as the Quetta Bears were bowled out for 101 in the chase of 198. With Mohammad Sami a doubt for the tour of the West Indies, Shoaib Akhtar’s chances of return are strengthened.

With 330 international wickets (144 Test, 186 ODI), his experience and international success would be a huge boost to the Pakistan team. Pakistan arrives in the Caribbean on May 8th.
